Homophobia in Uganda

Homosexuality is illegal in Uganda.

Following an International outcry, legislation to impose harsher sentences on homosexuals, including imprisonment, and death was put on hold – but is expected to be enacted next year.

US right-wing evangelical missionaries working in/visiting Uganda are believed by some to be actively encouraging the homophobic reaction in the country.
