When Typhoon Yolanda tore through the Philippines, many buildings were destroyed or damaged. Amongst these was the Leyte Provincial Jail. The roof was torn off. That, and the flash floods that filled the cells with head-high water meant around 600 prisoners being held, awaiting trial, simply swam out of their flooded cells to freedom
