Only in American Politics…

by noseycow

Around a week ago the ‘leader of the free world’ skipped out for lunch at a burger bar, accompanied by hoards of press and a live tv network. At first controversy reigned because he ordered his burger ‘medium well’ (food snobs tell us its this is over cooked and we shouldn’t like it!) but then the real issue hit the fans.

President Obama refused the yellow liquid that passes in American as mustard and had the audacity to order Dijon instead!

Sacrebleu! and someone voted this man into office when he clearly OVER ESTIMATES his political opponents!

When parental rights are wrong

by noseycow

A mother in America has been given permission by the courts to collect the sperm from her dead son, because she wants him to ‘live on’. The courts have ordered the medical examiner to hold the mans body in an appropriate environment while his mother tries to find a doctor who’s willing to collect the sample.  She should give Ms Suleman’s physician a call!

An American answer to Road Rage

by noseycow

When faced with an aggressive (usually male) driver I find that smiling sweetly while cutting them up works a treat at provoking further outrage.  I know that I shouldn’t, having been on the receiving end of a terrifying attack a few years ago while driving the three children to school, but somehow I can’t help myself.

The solution, apparently, will be available in American shops in April. A simple music CD with subliminal calming messages unobtrusively inserted. Will it work? Who knows, but it will relieve angry drivers of a few dollars!

This weeks super intelligent award goes to staff at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary who put an inmate into a cell with the convicted killer whom he had testified against, and wondered why a mere 15 minutes later he had been beaten to death.

Prison officials are investigating how this happened, so we can rest easy.
