Mrs Bean ‘Restores’ Painting

Anyone see the Rowan Atkinson film in which his character, Mr Bean, accidentally damages the painting of Whistler’s mother and attempts to disguise the fact by painting her face himself?

I waas reminded of that film by this story of a Spanish woman, in her 80’s, who took it upon herself to try and restore a damaged painting of Jesus Christ in her local church – with about as much success as had Mr Bean

Bell-Ringers Imprisoned by Pensioner

There is a church about 100 yards down the road from me and every now and again the bloody bellringers start making a racket.

There has been no great music written for church bells, so for about an hour my ears are assaulted by the same 6 notes repeated over and over and over and over and over a(f*cken)gain. It gets intensely irritating – so I have a great deal of sympathy for ‘Mr Crotchety’, who lives within earshot of St John the Divine Church in Sharow, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Supergran foils Robbery

Six youths wearing crash helmets attempted to smash the windows of a jewellery shop in Northampton, England using sledgehammers but were chased off by a plucky pensioner who waded into them with her handbag.
