Fierce Baptism

by duncanr

hhmmm, this greek orthodox christian priest a tad too vigorous perhaps in performing this baptism ritual?

he certainly scared the shit out of the kids standing behind him – watch them back away out of his reach !

as for the poor sod getting dunked in the water – he’ll do well if he escapes brain injury (shaken baby syndrome) and is left with just a bruised arse and a dread of water

Is that a Loaf of Bread in your Hand or . . .

by duncanr

hhmmm, following on from ATW’s post suggesting an alternative use for ‘Holiday Obelisks’ at an arts fair – ‘Butt Plugs for Jesus‘, can anyone guess why this brand new statue at Blackfriars Priory, Adelaide, Australia, of St Martin de Porres passing a loaf of bread to a young boy has been covered up following ribald comments upon its unveiling?

perhaps, if I . . .

Praise the (hic!) Lord

Australian Lamb Ad

by duncanr

Cameron – Christ on a Bike !

by duncanr

cameron jesussave us from pontificating politicians !

folk have been enjoying Easter weekend here in the UK

while for many folk, Easter is about bunnies and chocolate easter eggs, playing with their kids, and not having to go into work on Monday, for christians, Easter has a deeper meaning – it marks the resurrection (coming back to life) of Jesus Christ 3 days after he was crucified

Christian leaders have broadcast messages to their followers, and the wider world – and

sadly, some politicians . . .

Religious Claptrap

by duncanr

Animated_jesus_wine_bread_hg_clrI am an atheist – I have made no secret of it!

yet I have friends/neighbours/work colleagues (christian. hindu, sikh, muslim) who believe in a God

our differing beliefs do not prevent us being friends – since none of us can be certain who is in the right, we put such differences aside and do not pay them much attention when determining whether or not we should be friends

I am not so arrogant to assume that I am right in my disbelief in a God that I attempt to persuade my friends to abandon their beliefs and adopt mine – after all, I could be mistaken in thinking there is no GOD

however . . .
