Indian SC Bans Gay Sex

no entry editedOn Dec 11, 2013, India’s Supreme Court (SC) overturned a ruling by the New Delhi court that allowed consensual gay sex between adults in private.

On Tuesday, the SC rejected an appeal against their Dec ruling and reaffirmed that gay sex was a criminal offence “irrespective of age and consent” and was punishable by a sentence of 10 years to life in prison (http://tinyurl.com/q2ga2g4)

Christian Couple Lose Appeal to Supreme Court

no gay signI am old enough to remember a time when it was quite common in some parts of the UK to see signs on doors or on windows, or in adverts  placed by landlords looking for tenants to rent a property that said words to the effect of ‘No Irish or Coloureds Need Apply’

Thankfully these days are long gone. We have laws now that make such discrimination illegal

Political Protestor Released from Prison

A Czech bus driver, Roman Smetana, sentenced to 100 days in prison for defacing political posters, has been temporarily released from prison while the Supreme Court reviews the circumstances surrounding his detention.
