Yasuo Takamatsu has spent the last 3 years searching for the body of his wife Yuko, who was one of the thousands drowned by the tsunami following the undersea earthquake that shook Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011

$133k left in toilet for Tsunami victims

An anonymous donor has left $133,000 in a disabled toilet in Japan to be used for the benefit of those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck the country in March this year.

A note left with the money said –

“I am all alone. I have no future so let the people in Tohoku** use it.”

** Tohoku was one of the worst hit areas

P.S. the good news is that the dogs were later rescued – one is currently being cared for in a shelter while the other is receiving veterinary care

Japan Earthquake : Ignorant American Asshole

I wanted to post this a couple of days ago but just couldn’t find the words to express my thoughts. Still can’t as a matter of fact. I want to believe this is a joke (in pretty poor taste it has to be said) but there have been so many ignorant comments posted on websites, facebook, twitter etc from american assholes gloating about the human tragedy in Japan being ‘karma’ – a payback for Pearl Harbour – that I’m not so sure. (As an aside, anyone hear of any Japanese gloating at the loss of life when the Twin Towers fell – claiming it was Karma for the USA bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima? No? Me, neither!) So I’ll just post the vid and leave you to form your own opinion.
